Case 1: Facelift
This 62 year old woman from Bedford, New Hampshire, wanted rejuvenation of her face and neck. She was also concerned about her upper eyelids. She disliked hearing questions, such as "Are you tired? Are you not sleeping well?". She felt fine, but it her face was gently starting to show her age. After a full forehead lift with an upper and lower blepharoplasty, people stopped asking if she was tired and started complimented her, asking her what she used on her skin. She loves her younger look and is glad that she decided to have it done. Dr. Gray does a Macs facelift which he learned from Dr. Tonnard of Belgium in 2002. He recognized that aging occurs largely with sagging of tissues and devised a technique with a vertical pole which is directly opposite of gravity and eliminates scars behind the ears. There is much less cutting and no need for drains. There is less risk of complications a quicker recovery and a better result. The traditional facelift has extensive scarring behind the ears and alters the hairline. The traditional method is lateral and may make the mouth appear too wide and produce abnormal wrinkles in the cheeks.
