Dr. R. Brannon Claytor

An Expert Plastic Surgeon Now in New Hampshire


We are very happy to welcome Dr. R. Brannon Claytor to Atlantic Plastic Surgery, following six years of practice in Portland, Maine. He is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as in hand surgery. Dr. Claytor is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, offering our patients a high level of skill, outstanding training and commitment to excellence in cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgery.

Dr. Claytor has an impressive academic background and a history of publications and presentations. His two-year plastic surgery residency at University of Massachusetts Medical School also included a three-month training at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye and Ear Throat Hospital in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He then completed an additional year in breast microsurgery, oncologic reconstruction and hand microsurgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and served as a clinical instructor at Maine Medical Center for the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

 

Dr. Claytor is an active member of both the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.  Dr. Brannon Claytor serves as a mentor for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery to new plastic surgeons who may be candidates to become active members of  ASAPS. 

Dr. Claytor has a broad range of interests. He has been a
Dr. R. Brannon Claytor commercial airline pilot and flight instructor. He was a member of the vestry of his church in Portland, chairman of Professional Code of Conduct at Jefferson Medical College for 2 years and was named “Teacher of the Year” at Lahey Clinic Medical Center for 2008.


Dr. Claytor is on staff at both Portsmouth and York Hospitals.  In November, 2011 he was appointed by the Board of Trustees of Portsmouth Regional Hospital to be on the Institutional Review Board.

 

Dr. Claytor also operates at our private, licensed facility at Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center. His warmth, attention to detail, dedication to his craft and total focus on the patients needs are immediately evident.
