Volbella

Juvéderm® VOLBELLA® with Lidocaine is the latest advancement in the Juvéderm® range of facial fillers, developed specifically for your lips and mouth area. It is a smooth gel that is injected by Dr. Ballentyne, using an ultra-fine needle. It has been specifically developed as a smooth gel to give a soft, natural feel. The gel fills in lip lines and wrinkles while the hyaluronic acid within attracts and retains moisture, so results can last up to a year. A study showed that 98% of people who had Juvéderm® VOLBELLA® with Lidocaine reported that their lip appearance goals had been achieved; with results lasting up to 12 months.

Juvederm

JUVEDERM is one of the newest, non-surgical, injectable fillers used to restore the skin’s volume. JUVEDERM does an excellent job of softening deep folds, reducing and correcting wrinkles and nasolabial folds. You’ll see the difference immediately with no downtime.

JUVEDERM is offered in two formulations: JUVEDERM Ultra (for areas where subtle volume enhancement is required) and JUVEDERM Ultra Plus (for correction of deep folds and wrinkles). JUVEDERM Ultra Plus costs the same and lasts about three months longer.

Once you and Dr. Ballentyne have decided on the areas you’d like to correct, JUVEDERM is injected at the mid to deep dermis (beneath the surface of the skin). Some people like the comfort of a dental block in the area, while others find the brief procedure very tolerable. Other approved hyaluronic acid treatments are granular in consistency, but the smooth consistency of JUVEDERM allows the injection to be given with relative ease. Side effects may be redness, mild pain/ tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/ bumps, or mild bruising. Most reactions subside in just a few days.

Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler that replaces lost volume and restores youthful contours to the skin, greatly reducing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and nasolabial folds (the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth). Restylane is approved by the FDA for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane is also highly popular for lip augmentation.

Restylane lasts an average of four to six months. Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts with an ultra fine needle. The procedure is simple and results are immediate. For your greatest comfort, you may request that we anesthetize the area.

Radiesse

Restylane is a great choice for redefining a lip border, facial decations, facial scarring, chin augmentation, and softening acne scarring. It is also excellent for diminishing worry lines between eyebrows, smile lines, crows feet around eyes, marionette lines at corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds), and smokers lines. Restylane can be used for creating a temporary eyebrow lift, correcting facial decations caused by fat loss, and softening the appearance of jowls.

  • Corners of the mouth can begin to turn downward, giving the look of a constant frown
  • Pre-jowls that form along the jaw-line
  • Chin wrinkles

Fat Grafting For Facial Enhancement:

Correction of sagging and loss of volume using the patients own fat

Dr. Heidi Harrington of Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center is finding very positive results with fat grafting for correction of the effects of facial aging and gravitational pull. Fat grafting is highly successful for filling in deep facial lines, nasolabial folds and sunken eyes, where surrounding fat has disappeared. Facial descent or sagging can be often corrected by a facelift, while fat that is lost from the surrounding tissue is replaced by fat grafting or transfer to create a natural and youthful look.

Facial fat transfer is a minimally invasive rejuvenation procedure, which allows Dr. Harrington or Dr. Lawrence Gray to reshape and restore the face to its natural more youthful beauty. Fat grafting can be used alone or in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, rhinoplasty or blepharoplasty. Many early signs of aging, such as fat migration or shifting, fat descent or fat loss can be corrected with fat injections.

The Difference between Botox and Facial Fillers

Sick of deep lines on your face? Wishing you could get a quick fix for the signs of aging around your mouth and eyes?

You may think that Botox is your only option, but in fact there are other injectable cosmetics that plastic surgeons use to treat some lines on the face. That’s why it’s important for individuals to understand the difference between injectables like Botox and facial fillers, like Juvederm.

What Botox does:

According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), Botox is a neuromuscular toxin, and while it is the most widely recognized brand name for this type of cosmetic, there are other variations that have FDA approval, namely, Dysport and Xeomin. The injectable medicine is used to treat “active” facial lines, meaning those that have only recently formed. A board-certified plastic surgeon will inject the cosmetic into facial areas that are associated with the formation of wrinkles. For example, the muscles you use to frown may be responsible for lines around the mouth, so a plastic surgeon can use Botox to artistically alter facial expressions. This won’t result in a loss of the ability to show emotions on the face – the intention is to make subtle changes that will stop lines from forming while promoting a natural appearance.
