Ultherapy

Have a firmer, higher derriere!

The shape and size of a person’s buttock area is mostly determined by genetics. Re-shaping of the buttocks through diet and exercise can be very difficult and seem impossible. Patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their buttocks, whether due to their size or shape or sagging skin, can improve their shape with butt lift surgery. This procedure is often ideal for those who have lost weight and feel their buttocks lack shape or who simply wish to improve the appearance of their backsides.

What makes a more beautiful buttock shape?

First, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We listen, first and foremost, to the improvement the patient want and then give professional, medical advice specific to that person’s anatomy.

An attractive buttock shape generally has:

  • lumbar curve
  • a shapely silhouette or side profile
  • pleasing proportion

Most people are interested in the “A” or triangular shape is pointed up or down.

We perform 3 different types of buttock lifts:

  • Fat Transfer (or Fat Grafting):

Fat transfer or grafting is designed to fill the upper area of the buttocks so it appears significantly more full and youthful. If you would like more volume in your buttocks, Dr. Gray or Dr. Harrington may choose to increase the size with fat extracted from other areas of your own body using liposuction. Fat transfer is often referred to as a Brazilian butt lift.

The first step is to remove excess fat from other parts of the body. The second step is to take the fat, which has been collected and purified, and inject it into the buttocks, where it will now enhance the contour of your buttocks. The fat used for this type of buttock augmentation can be collected from the abdomen, lower back area and thighs. The body generally accepts the recently added fat cells because they are your own genetic composition.

  • Surgical Lift:

Patients whose buttocks have adequate volume but have a sagging or flattened look may be good candidates for a surgical lift. This procedure can redistribute fat and lift drooping buttocks as well as address surface imperfections. The result is a smooth, rounded and evenly toned backside.

  • Fat Transfer/Surgical Lift Combination:

For patients who want fuller buttocks but also have imperfections of shape and tone that require correction, our surgeons can combine the fat transfer procedure with a surgical butt lift. Performed during one operation, these 2 techniques can work together to increase volume while doing away with sagging, folds and other contour irregularities. The result is a smoother, curvier backside that will enhance your silhouette as well as the fit of your jeans.

Patients with excess drooping skin may opt for a traditional excisional butt lift. Patients who want to subtly augment their backsides may prefer fat transfer, which is also popularly known as the  Brazilian butt lift.

Like most plastic surgery procedures, butt lift surgery can be performed on its own or in combination with other procedures such as abdominoplasty and breast augmentation as part of a more comprehensive body contouring plan.
